3-Man Umpire Clinic

Instructors

Our instructional staff is comprised of current and former Triple-A professional umpires, current and former NCAA postseason umpires, and leaders in the umpiring community.

Upon acceptance of your registration, class schedule and any other camp information (when confirmed) is sent by email. Schedules are subject to change.

Currently, the clinic begins on October 4 at approximately 6:00 pm. The clinic concludes on Sunday, October 6 at approximately 4:00 pm or after the last live game assignment.

October 4 – October 6 | Registrations Limited

This weekend camp is the most advanced umpire training for non-professional umpires. Designed to help umpires learn the skills required for NCAA conference level games. This clinic meets certifications requirements for working in the CAA or MEAC Conferences.

Clinic Overview

This is an intense weekend with a professional approach to the instruction of three-man mechanics. Instruction includes comprehensive classroom discussion of mechanics and techniques, NCAA Rules and CAA Mechanics, The Strike Zone, Handling Situations, Communication, Philosophy of Plate and Base Work, Field Work and Drills. In addition, live game assignments with evaluations of on-field performance are planned.

Location

This clinic is held in conjunction with our Florida Week-long Camp in Orlando, Florida. The clinic begins in the classroom on Friday, October 4 at 6:00 pm – at our camp hotel, the Spring Hill Suites – Altamont Springs, Florida. Field instruction and live games take place in the Central Florida area on surrounding fields and college campuses. The clinic concludes on Sunday, October 6 after the last evaluation game.

October 5 – Classroom, on-field instruction, and live game evaluations
October 6 – On-Field Instruction and Live game evaluations

Lodging/Travel Arrangements

Lodging, meals, and travel are the responsibility of the umpire. However, we do offer a clinic tuition option that includes two nights at our camp hotel at $100 per night.

Tuition

Clinic tuition is $250. Space is limited, register today! Tuition must be paid in full by October 1. Registration closes on October 1 or when the capacity for camp is filled. All registrations are subject to approval.

Certification

The MEAC Conference office requires umpires to be certified in order to umpire conference assignments. Umpires wishing to umpire in the MEAC Conference should attend this clinic. Also to be considered for the CAA umpire staff for 2020, umpires should attend this clinic. In order to obtain CAA and/or MEAC certification, you must attend the entire clinic.
