Our instructional staff is comprised of current and former Triple-A professional umpires, current and former NCAA postseason umpires, and leaders in the umpiring community.
Upon acceptance of your registration, class schedule and any other camp information (when confirmed) is sent by email. Schedules are subject to change.
Currently, the camp begins on Sunday, October 6 at approximately 6:00 pm. The clinic concludes on Saturday, October 12th at approximately 3:00 pm or after the last live game assignment.

An advanced umpire training for non-professional umpires, this upper-level camp is designed for teaching and enhancing the skills required for NCAA conference level games.
The MAC-UCU Florida Camp Week Two begins on Sunday night, October 6, and concludes the following Saturday, October 12. Our camp curriculum continually evolves to enhance the skills of umpires. We concentrate on developing accuracy and calibrating strike zones with video analysis. We dissect and diagnose starting positions and final positions for plays, including preparing for secondary and potential plays.
This camp is advanced instruction and teaching with an emphasis on the developing the individual umpire’s skills, improve muscle memory, and create a passion for continued learning on how to become the best at this unique craft.
Every year we are pushing the training curriculum to continually improve and look for the best way to umpire baseball games at the college level. However, we don’t lose sight of the tried-and-true methods umpires need to master. This camp sets a high bar and gives you the tools to reach it.
Program of Instruction
Instruction includes comprehensive classroom discussion of mechanics and techniques, NCAA Rules and CCA Mechanics, The Strike Zone, Handling Situations, Communication, Philosophy of Plate and Base Work, and Field Work and Drills. This innovative instruction prepares umpires to work three-man mechanics at the highest level of NCAA baseball.
This intense and professional approach to the instruction of advanced three-man umpire mechanics is augmented with live game assignments with evaluations of on-field performance as well as post-game review.
Our staff is lead by CAA and MEAC Umpire Coordinator John Porter and UCU President and NCAA Division I Coordinator, Chris Marshall. Our instructors are dedicated and committed to sharing the skills and techniques making them successful at the highest levels of the game.
This camp is in the Altamonte Springs/Orlando Florida area. Our camp hotel is the Spring Hill Suites – Altamont Springs, Florida. All rooms are suites with free high-speed Internet access, a desk and 2 phones with voice mail, even a pantry with mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Plus, the hotel has an impressive fitness room and indoor pool, plus there are many restaurants in the area.
Classes are held at the camp hotel. Field instruction and live games take place in the Central Florida area on surrounding fields and college campuses.
Tuition & Costs
We have arranged pricing to include the camp tuition with hotel accommodations, either single, double or triple occupancy. For local umpires or those wishing to make their own lodging arrangements, we are also offering a camp only option.
- Camp Tuition plus a Single Room is $1,350.
- Camp Tuition plus a Double Room is $1,075.
- Camp Tuition plus a Triple Room is $975.
- Camp Tuition Only is $875.
Payment is by check only. Balance/final payment must be postmarked by September 14.
Receive a discount of $50 off your total balance if a deposit of $350 is submitted and postmarked by August 10, 2019.

Camp concludes on Saturday, October 12 at approximately 3:00 pm or when the last evaluation game assignment is completed. When making travel arrangements, please schedule to ensure you will arrive to be in the classroom at 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 6 and leave after 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 12.
Campers must attend all days, no partial attendance allowed.
Attending this clinic will satisfy the requirement for MEAC certification. The MEAC office requires umpires working their conference to attend a clinic or camp each year. If you are on the MEAC staff, this clinic meets certification requirements.

All registrations are subject to approval. If your registration is approved, you’ll receive an email confirming your registrations with directions on submitting your payment.
The approval process is not automatic and payment does not guarantee approval. Your registration is reviewed by the camp administration. You may receive an email or phone call to obtain further information to assist in the decision. If your registration is approved, you are notified by email with any camp information not already published and how to submit your tuition payment. Please allow a week to 10 days for this review.
