This camp offers innovative instruction preparing umpires to work all levels of NCAA and NJCAA baseball. We believe in an intense and professional approach to the instruction of three-man umpire mechanics with an emphasis on plate and base work augmented by live game evaluation, on-field drills, and instruction.
Program of Instruction
Instruction includes comprehensive classroom discussion of mechanics and techniques, NCAA Rules and CCA Mechanics, The Strike Zone, Handling Situations, Communication, Philosophy of Plate and Base Work, and Field Work and Drills.
Our staff is comprised of some of the top Professional and Collegiate Umpires. The talented staff is led by UCU President Chris Marshall, the Conference Coordinator for four NCAA Division I conferences. Our dedicated instructors share the skills and techniques that have made them successful at the highest levels of the game.
Cost and Location
Tuition for this event is $275. The clinic will take place on the campus of SUNY-Cortland and other surrounding venues.
Instruction begins on Friday evening, September 14 at 6:00 pm with classroom instruction at SUNY-Cortland. Instruction and live evaluation games on September 15 and September 16.
Attending this clinic certifies umpires to work JUCO, NCAA Division II & III level baseball games and conferences.
Umpires are responsible for their own lodging, transportation, and meals. We will attempt to accommodate your travel plans, but umpires should be prepared to participate in a full day and night of training on September 16.
